When I sat down to write about my weekend in running, I realized: I'm enjoying not blogging more than I'm enjoying blogging right now. So I'm going to be away for a little longer still, at least until I have something inspired to say. Back before you can miss me!
MY QUEST TO QUALIFY NOT JUST FOR THE OLYMPIC TRIALS BUT FOR THE 2016 OLYMPICS IN THE MARATHON (to do this I will need to halve my marathon time)
On I went, out of the wood, passing the man leading without knowing I was going to do so. Flip-flap, flip-flap, jog-trot, jog-trot, curnchslap-crunchslap, across the middle of a broad field again, rhythmically running in my greyhound effortless fashion, knowing I had won the race though it wasn't half over, won it if I wanted it, could go on for ten or fifteen or twenty miles if I had to and drop dead at the finish of it, which would be the same, in the end, as living an honest life like the governor wanted me to. -Alan Sillitoe, "Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner"
Oh! I love reading your blog with my morning coffee which means that you have at least one reader who will miss you before you have a chance to come back.
ReplyDeleteUnless you get inspired and blog again before tomorrow morning.
Oh, man! Your compliment makes me want to find something to write about... but I'm really at a loss. Hopefully mid-week this week I'll have something for you.
ReplyDeleteBut wait... didn't I tell you no more pre-run coffee? Or was it just that one day? Hm, well, which would be the worse decision to make?
That was just one day. I'm Colombian so don't even try to mess with my coffee habit.
ReplyDeleteI am in the habit of checking in here every day, so this is going to be hard to adjust to...:(
ReplyDeleteI too usually check everyday, every morning actually.
